ABBEY HILL LITERARY QUICK LIT COMPETITION SUMMARY
- • For each quarter, each Quick Lit contest submission must be no more than 1,500 words in length and use one of the five opening sentences mandated for that quarter only, OR one of the two quarterly scenarios described.
• All submissions must be author’s original, previously unpublished work. Entries from previous Abbey Hill Literary winners are welcome.
• Quarterly submission dates are:
January 1st through midnight the last day of February 2010
April 1st through midnight the last day of May 2010
July 1st through midnight the last day of August 2010
October 1st through midnight the last day of November 2010
• Entry fee for each quarterly contest, for entries of up to 1,500 words, is $10.00 per submission. If a story critique has been purchased, the entry fee is a total of $20.00 (includes both entry fee and critique).
• Quick Lit contest prize list is 1st-$200, 2nd-$100, 3rd-$50, Evolving Talent-$25.
• E-mail submissions are preferred, although snail mail is accepted for U.S. submissions.
• Your story’s genre must be named in e-mail subject line, followed by your last name.
• Submitted stories must be included within your e-mail (no attachments) and should include a story title.
• Erotica and stories with excessive blood, violence and gore are discouraged.
• Submissions made simultaneously to other contests and magazines and/or ezines are discouraged.
• Entry fee(s) should be paid via PayPal (click here), or, if submission is made via United States Post Office mail, entry fee(s) may be paid via money order to Abbey Hill Literary. Sent USPS mailed entries to:
